What happens at your consultation?

I will visit your home at a time and date agreed. First I will talk about the service you are interested in and you will be given an estimated price. If you are happy with the price given we will fill out the relevant paper work such as the service agreement and terms and conditions. It should take around 20 minutes. 

Due to Covid19, house calls will be conducted outside the home either in your garden or near your home in a park or field. Masks must be worn and proper sanitation must be adhered too to ensure we are all safe. This will be discussed beforehand when booking your consulation.  

Dog Walking

  • You choose the time I come to collect your dog.

  • I will only walk maximum 4 dogs at a time for our own safety and the dogs and it ables me to give them the attention they need. If you require a solo walk a charge will be added to the initial price. 

  • I will pick up a key either from a safety box or during our consultation. All security issues will be addressed such as alarms.

  • Walks can be within your local area so your dog is familiar with its surroundings or it can be taken to woodland areas, you decide.

  • Dogs can be walked on the lead at all times unless specified by the owner and an agreement is signed. 

 

General terms

  • If your dog is being trained then just let me know what commands and exercises you are working on and I can continue this during the walks or when sitting. I am more than familiar with clicker training methods and positive reinforcement training.

  • We do not use caged vans. Generally dogs have never been in a cage never mind in a car and they can be very noisy and frightening. We want to make the experience a happy and fun one therefor they will be secured into a back seat or put into the boot depending on the size of the dog or what they find most comfortable.  

  • All consultations are free of charge and there is no obligation to sign up, I want to make sure we are a good fit for each other. 

 

Terms and conditions (in full)

 

  • All clients will be deemed to have accepted Furry Trails Pet Company terms and conditions (as laid out here) on signature of the service agreement contract. 

 

  •  Payment of work carried out will be requested weekly, on Fridays. A full payment must be made within 7 days of the payment notice. If payment is not made within this time 2.5% of the total bill will be added for each day that payment is overdue.  

 

  • The client must provide all items necessary for pets to be adequately cared for in the client's absence. (i.e., food, medication, leads, tags, collars, cat litter etc). Should pets require any additional supplies whilst in the care of Furry Trails Pet Company, these will be purchased and added to the bill. 

 

  • If it is necessary for keys to be picked up or dropped off in order to complete a visit charges will be applied for each trip. 

 

  • The client must provide Furry Trails Pet Company with the name and contact number of someone capable of making a decision relating to the pet(s) in an emergency. If the contact is not available Furry Trails Pet Company reserves the right to consult with a veterinary surgeon and then make a decision which is in the best interests of the animal. 

 

  • The client is responsible for any veterinary bills, no matter how they are incurred, whilst pets are in the care of Furry Trails Pet Company. 

 

  • Although Furry Trails Pet Company holds Public Liability insurance, wherever possible pets should be insured by the client. Furry Trails Pet Company reserves the right to refuse a booking for any animal which is not insured. 

 

  • Furry Trails Pet Company will care for your animal as you would, and whilst we will make every effort to ensure your pet is well looked after in your absence, Furry Trails Pet Company cannot be held liable for any loss, injury or death to a pet either inside or outside of the home whilst in our care. 

 

  • I authorise Furry Trails Pet Company to obtain any emergency veterinary care that may be necessary during the time spent with my pet. Every effort will be made to contact the owner prior to obtaining emergency care. I accept responsibility for any charges related to this emergency care. I also authorise Furry Trails Pet Company to utilise an alternative veterinarian in the event my regular veterinarian is unavailable. 

 

  • I agree to reimburse Furry Trails Pet Company for any additional fees for providing emergency care, as well as any expenses incurred for unexpected visits, transportation, housing, food, or supplies. 

 

  •  Furry Trails Pet Company accepts no responsibility for security of the premises or loss, including if other individuals have access to the home during the term of this agreement. During all assignments pet care will only be undertaken by Furry Trails Pet Company, unless prearranged with client. 

  

  • My pet will be photographed during its stay with us. These images may be used on our Website/Facebook/Instagram Pages etc unless I specifically request us not to do so. 

 

Terms and Conditions - Dog Walking 

 

  • Cancellations – Clients must give a minimum of 24 hours’ notice to cancel any appointments or the full amount will be collected. 

 

  • All dogs being exercised must be fully vaccinated, including kennel cough if being walked with other dogs, and on a regular flea and worm control regime. They must also be Micro Chipped with the current owners name and address. From 6 April 2016 all dogs in England, Scotland and Wales are legally required to be microchipped and their details registered on one of the authorised databases. 

 

  • Furry Trails Pet Company reserves the right to cancel the contract at any time & with immediate effect if the dog does not respond well to the walker and/or other dogs. 

 

  • All dogs will be exercised on a lead unless prior agreement has been reached with Furry Trails Pet Company and signed by the client and by the walker. 

 

  • Furry Trails Pet Company is not responsible for damage incurred by pet escaping because of a faulty leash/collar or a collar that is not properly fitting. 

 

  • Furry Trails Pet Company will not be liable for the injury, disappearance, death, or fines of any pet with unsupervised access to the outdoors 

 

  • The walker will apply personal judgment and cut short a walk if necessary because of extreme weather conditions (ie, heat, blizzards) for the safety of both the dogs and the walker. 

 

  • If dog(s) require a quick towelling off after walks or a wash, towels and shampoo must be provided and left by the front door. 

 

Terms and Conditions - Pet sitting 

 

  • Any cancellations must be communicated at least 48 hours in advance or 50% of the rate will be charged. 

 

  • All costs must be paid before work is carried out. 

 

  • Furry Trails Pet Company will make adequate steps to ensure your home is safe and secure in your absence; however Furry Trails Pet Company cannot be held responsible for any burglaries, or accidents caused by your pet(s).
